High winds overnight caused significant damage to an apartment building in South San Francisco, ripping off pieces of roof decking and temporarily displacing residents. South San Francisco deputy fire chief Matthew Samson told SFGATE that the department responded to a residence on Susie Way shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday. "Crews arrived and found roof decking and membrane damage to the building," Samson said. "The material was still posing a hazard as it had not completely separated from the structure.
